The Robert Booth Family

Robert Booth & Frances Burgess were my ancestors. They hailed from England where they married circa 1638. Very soon thereafter the couple came to America. Robert served as York County, Virginia Clerk of Courts from 1640 until his death in 1657. He also served at least one term as a Member of the House of Burgesses.

Robert Booth, Jr., their son, served as a Militia Captain and Justice of the Peace for York County, Virginia. My ancestral line is from their daughter, Elisabeth Booth who married Dr. Patrick Napier, of Scotland, in 1658, York Co VA.

It is believed that Robert and Frances were also parents of Ann Booth wife of Capt.Thomas Dennett and married secondly William Clopton; Eleanor Booth, Thomas Booth and William Booth, who was also a Justice of the Peace in York Co VA.
